SNOW

Who would think that I would miss snow! We don't normally have snow in seattle. I thought I would see snow in michigan over thanksgiving and I didn't so I was hoping for the snow that they predicted here in seattle. Last night at jen and brad's holiday party we looked out the window and the snow was coming down heavy. I was shocked and excited. It was the perfect weather for a holiday party! I was a little bit worried that we'd be crashing on jen and brad's couch, but luckly joel has a car that can handle the snow and he got us home safe and sound to ballard. Great time at jen and brad's party and gerat time looking at the snow!

Alcohol...

So in college I was known as an one drink wonder or a light weight. I still don't drink all that much, but it seems like some people are insinuating that I do. I'm also try trying to lose some weight and was told by several people that I shouldn't over indulge on the drinks. It really irritated me! What, do I overindulge on drinks all the time??? Don't drink too many beers at the beer feastival one of my friends told me...... I don't even drink beer!! I do drink cider, which I did have there, but I didn't over indulge.... I had two drinks at happy hour the other week and was told that maybe I should cut down my drinks. 2 drinks?? Is that excessive??? Especially, uhm, that was the only day I drank at all, all week. I go to happy hour and prefer the food, but not the alcohol as much. Sure I do drink occasionally, but I don't need to drink all the time. So, please mind your own business. thanks.

Bad day at work. Doing work I hate!! Not happy about it, but need to fix. hmmm... maybe it's time for a new job again... not sure.... normally do like job.

In terms of people, just feeling a bit left out. It sucks being the one left out. Definitely this weekend and today drove that home.

Very much ready for a vacation and seeing some of my friends!

I'm a dork, but it's okay

As nerdy as this sounds. I love to read. I mean I really love to read. When I get into a book it's almost like I am a part of that book and I have taken some crazy journey to another world. I can sit anywhere, read, and be basically dead/immune to the outside world. I credit this partially to growing up in a noisy, large, and big family where I needed to tune out the world in order to get home work done and sometimes in order to function.

Anyway, I joined a book club and I was really excited because it combines my love of reading with my love of being social. We picked the book Eat Love Pray and I thought I would love this book. Well this book probably took me the longest to read of any book. I just finished reading this book a minute ago and I read it very much immersed at a coffee shop. I didn't notice that 3 hours had went by and I was reading. I did however have some type of crazy at peace zen feeling because the book was about finding inner peace. When liz, the main character, found her inner peace, I too felt like I was finding my inner peace. I came home and felt like meditating. I took an extremely long and "zen" like shower. I felt at peace. I wanted to do yoga. Then, I remembered I did not enjoy my last experience with yoga, but hey after reading this book I would like to try again and to meditate. Maybe reading is my mediation and gives me my zen, well anyway I don't know just felt like writing this down.

the weekend so far

So, this weekend has been pretty good so far although it did not start out so hot. Friday morning I forgot my laptop and Dave was sweet enough to call me and say he would bring it to his work. I went to his work and picked up my laptop. The thing that sucked is that I was then late for work, or later then I wanted to be to work. Then my day started out with nothing and ended with a lot and I was irritated at the work that I was getting. This work to me seems MINDLESS. My brain is used for 15 minutes of figuring out what is necessary and then it's a mindless copy and pasting process. Dave as a material's engineer has lab people to carry out his tests, but I'm the one doing all my bullshit mindless crap. Anyway, at least I was busy which is good, but I was irritated when I came home. Really irritated. I still called Amy though, and I'm glad that I did because I had a lot of fun talking and hanging out with her at the Black Bottle. I had not been there before and it was so good!! We each had 2 glasses of wine and split some flat bread which was delicious! We didn't stay out late, probably only until like 9 pm, but it was a ton of fun! Today I woke up and ate breakfast with dave, and then I went to the gym. It was hard to be motivated to work out, but I feel good (although really sore) and happy that I did make myself go to the gym. I'm debating whether I should spend money on a personal trainer or trying weight watchers, maybe both, who knows...... I'm trying to get healthy and in shape, but it would not hurt to lose some weight, weight watchers would probably help get that done. Today should be fun, I'm going to see Danielle in a bit probably, and then going out for a girl's night because Steph's friend is visiting from law school. Definitely a busy weekend. Dave and I are planning on looking at condos tomorrow, and then maybe I will do a bit of reading for my book club. I like being busy and having relaxing time! :)

Workouts so far this week

Sunday Morning - Gym workout (cardio, weights, and abs)
Wed. night - gym in building ( cardio and some weights)

engaged and Workout plan

So.... I have not posted in this blog in awhile and a lot has changed. As of 12/8/07 I am engaged!! I am really happy to be engaged to Dave! He completely surprised me when he proposed! It was the weekend of our 3 year anniversary and he made me promise to hang out with him that saturday because it was supposed to be a beautiful day. We made reservations at cutters by the market and walked down to the restaurant. After lunch we decided to go for a nice walk and he all of sudden stopped by the water and started saying really sweet words to me and I just said aww thanks and I really didn't know what was going on until he pulled out the ring and got on one knee. I started crying after I called my mom, and went home to charge my phone and call friends and family. that night we went and found the tile by the space needle that said "Amanda will you marry me dave?" It was fate that dave found that tile in a book titled "seattle proposal ideas". It was a nice day.

After that we went on an amazing vacation to israel and prague.

Now, I think I might try and use this as a log of workouts to try and get motivated.
