halloween comes early
Today at work they had a costume contest. I decided to come to work in my workout gear so I could workout after work and say I was dressed up as a runner. No one commented on what I wore. I think I can say it would be fine for me to wear workout clothes everyday to work. Good to know!

reading
I've always had a passion for reading. I'm pretty sure one of the main reasons that I wear glasses is because I would fall asleep with my book in my hands. I just could never put a book down, and still can't! My reading is actually helping me to workout right now. I take my kindle ( I love my kindle!!) to the gym with a freshly downloaded book. I sit at a bike and begin reading. I zone out and keep pedaling faster and poof 45 minutes dissapears. I have 19 books on my kindle currently, and I am ready to start donwloading some more! I love how reading can transfer me to a new place. I finished our book club book, Say you're one of them, and although it did transform me to africa, I did not love the book. I am dying to talk to book club about it, but of course I read ahead, and we are talking about another book tomorrow. Yup book club is at my house tomorrow, which had me thinking about reading!

everybody's working for the weekend
Friday was pretty low key.....
Saturday, I woke up with a migraine (probably from the wine that Dave and I drank on friday night) and decided to stay home and watch the MICHIGAN WOLVERINES, which was rough b/c they lost :(
Then at night we went to dinner at amy's bf, ben's, house. It was a reall nice dinner. I was really impressed with amy's cooking abilities.
Today, I went to the ballard farmer's market, and then shopping and chilling with farah...all makes for a great weekend, not ready to start the week, boo week!

How am I supposed to know if you're high if you won't let me touch you...
Dave and I went to an awesome FREE concert thursday night. I am not huge into going to concerts, but I'm really glad we went to this one. We wanted to make sure that we would get into the concert so we arrived early. We got to the crocodile like an hour before doors were supposed to open, and the line was pretty short. We took this as a cue to go get some yummy pizza and come back. When we got back, the line was a bit longer, but not too bad. It's hard going to a concert on a work night. The opener, DJ lord, did not get on until about 9 pm. I was like hmm we got here at 8, when is this guy going to come on? But, he was pretty good, and once he started playing, I had a huge adrenoline rush. We danced to old school songs, and I knew most of the words to the songs, so it was fun. The Hold Steady came on around, maybe 11, which is pass my bed time, but I was still pumped. They played a couple of songs from their new albulm, and a couple of older songs that I LOVED! People in the crowd were really getting into the groove of the songs. We were next to this guy who was probably about a foot taller then me, and he kept pretending he was the lead singer of the band and jumping around, which led to his arm hitting me in the head, and me saying move the fuck over! Other than that, our night was really fun! I was exhausted friday morning, but I would definitely do it again!!

Great weekend
I've been feeling a bit sluggish since I have been back from Italy. I am glad that I had a great weekend to remind me of how much fun I can have in seattle. Friday night we went out for Brad's 27th birthday. Dave and I decided to take the bus from ballard, which runs once an hour through U-district to capital hill. When the bus was heading through the U-district, 3 college freshman got on, and had a very amusing conversation that went something like this:
freshman 1:"So you're from ohio? does it rain in ohio?"
freshman 2: "yes, we get rain"
freshman 3:"Do they have grass in ohio?"
freshman 2: "yes, we have grass"
freshman 1:"What about olive garden? do you have olive garden?"
freshman 2: "yes, we have olive garden?"
and finally they talked about football and how they didn't know who the buckeyes were and weather they were professional or college. Consider udub has played OSU this was pretty funny. These girls made it seem like being from Ohio was like being from pluto or jupiter. They cracked me up and made me glad I was not a udub student.
After our hillarious bus ride, and a quick stop to buy the birthday boy a happy birthday cupcake, we headed to elysian brewery. The night was a lot of fun, and the only thing missing was Jen, who got sick, and couldn't make it out. Other than that, we had a good dinner and some drinks at elysian brewery, then headed over to several different bars (moe, six arms, linda's, stumbling monk, to name a few...). I was passing out by stumbling monk, but had a really fun time celebrating brad's birthday.
The next morning, I woke myself up at 10:05 am, and forced myself to get dressed and head to brunch. I carpooled with maureen for brunch at rosebud with nat, maureen, amy, and amy's two new seattlite friends (shellie and sarah). We found a great parking spot but the meter wasn't working so I paid for parking twice. I was in desperate need of coffee, and sat down right in time to say coffee please!! Once coffee came and the new seattlites arrived, we had a really fun brunch. Then I headed home to relax before my night out.
